Don't be fooled

Tue Jun 03, 2008 at 11:40:33 AM PDT

I read this on Andrew Sullivan's blog just a little while ago, which mirrored my thoughts on the subject.

We've got a temptation before us, which is to start feeling sorry for Hillary. You know...Good fight. Obama won. Let's be magnanimous. Let's give her a break. Well, don't fall into the trap.

Sullivan says:

Some will begin to feel a twinge of sympathy for Hillary Clinton. This is a mistake. You cannot show weakness, even in moments of victory over the Clintons. They will immediately use it against you and in defense of their own interests. The gratitude so many will feel as she departs is, in many ways, a contrived product of the sociopath's own unhinged reality. We shouldn't mistake it for anything the Clintons ever actually deserved.

As the reader he quotes basically says, be glad it's over, but don't be grateful to the extent we become complacent to the Clintons. Don't forget who we're dealing with here.
